We take the protection of your data and privacy seriously. This policy outlines the personally identifiable data that may be acquired and used in the routine operations of the business and how that data is used. Ta-Da Gifts Ltd is not in the business of selling, renting or trading customer, or customer contact or other personally identifiable information with other companies and will only provide any such information to suitable external companies when required to fulfil customer orders or conduct other legitimate business activities. For example, address details might be provided to a courier company to allow delivery of an order. We will only use your personal data where necessary to fulfil our duties to you, or where you have explicitly requested for us to contact you for other reasons (such as subscribing to our mailing list).
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave reviews or comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images when personalising a product, and then proceed to add the product to your basket, this image is sent over to a third party even if the item is not purchased. The image is sent over in order to generate a thumbnail of your design and generate print ready artwork in case the order is placed. This information will be held for a maximum of 30 days, at which time the artwork and thumbnails are deleted permanently, providing the generated item has not been purchased within this time.
Upon completing a contact form on this website, your request will be emailed over and picked up by the best team member to assist you. They will contact you using the contact details provided.
Your contact information submitted in this request will be used solely to respond to the submission, and will not be processed any further unless explicitly requested by you. Your request will be stored until the reason for submitting the form has been resolved, or we no longer feel it is relevant to keep your information (such as if we have received no response in a week, or the email address entered is not valid).
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Cookies will also be set to help make your experience on the website better, for example, by storing items you have added to your cart. For more information on this, see ‘Information we collect related to our shop’.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Our hosting provider, like most hosting providers, collects usage data related to our website. This information may contain IP addresses of users visiting the site, but is not processed in a way that aims to identify any individual. We will only use this data to gain general anonymised statistics, such as the monthly visits to the site, or how many bytes of information has been downloaded in a given date range.
We use a third-party service (Google Analytics) in order to anonymously monitor traffic and gain an insight into how the website is being used. This information may be used to improve the experience of users, or to send out relevant marketing material to those who have requested such information by choosing to receive our email marketing messages. We do not use any of the information collected to try to identify any person, or provide targeted advertisements.
Who we share your data with
As specified in ‘Media’, some of your data is shared with a third-party company (Custom Gateway) to provide you with a thumbnail of your personalised product for reviewing in the basket or orders section of your account. This data is limited to any personalisation text you have entered, and any images you have added to the product. If the item is purchased, some of your personal data is sent to the third-party to allow us to process your order and dispatch the goods to the correct place. More information is detailed in the store information section.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Your contact information
For any questions or requests you would like to send regarding your personal data, contact us using our contact form.
How we protect your data
As stated at the beginning of this policy, here at Ta-Da Gifts, we take the protection of your data seriously. To ensure your data is protected as much as possible, we:
- Ensure all information is shared over a secure connection, including that shared with the third parties detailed in this policy. You can see that the connection is secure by looking for the padlock symbol in your browser address bar, or seeing that the site address is prefixed with ‘https’ rather than the alternate ‘http’ version.
- Take user privileges seriously, only letting people within the company view personal data that is necessary for them to fulfil their role.
- Ensure strong and secure passwords are used when access is required to view personal data, such as logging into the admin area of the website or accessing the website’s database.
- Allow you to change your account information, such as your account password, which gives you the opportunity to keep your records up to date and keep your account safe if you feel that the username/password may have been compromised elsewhere. Please note that we will always recommend using unique username/password combinations for each account you have across the internet so that if a data breach on any of these websites does occur, all your other accounts are more likely to be safe.
What data breach procedures we have in place
In the unlikely event that a data breach does occur, we will notify the affected individuals as soon as possible, and notify the relevant supervisory authority where necessary. In the communication with the affected individuals, we will outline any steps that we advise the individual to take (such as changing their email address or password), as well as steps we are taking in relation to the breach.
Third parties we receive data from
We receive any updates in relation to personalised products that have been ordered through our website. This includes, but is not limited to, if there is an issue with the order (such as the address being incorrect) and if the order has been dispatched. The information sent to us is limited to your order number and the updated status of the order.
Information We Collect Related To Our Shop
We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.
What we collect and store
While you visit our site, we’ll track:
- Products you’ve viewed: we may use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed.
- Location, IP address and browser type: we use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping.
- Shipping address: we ask you to enter this so we can estimate shipping before you place an order, and send the order to the correct address.
When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:
- Send you information about your account and order(s).
- Respond to your requests, including refunds, complaints and feedback.
- Process payments and prevent fraud.
- Set up your account for our store.
- Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes.
- Improve our store offerings.
If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to automatically populate the checkout for future orders.
We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them, unless you ask us to remove them or they contain irrelevant or offensive messages.
Who on our team has access?
Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:
- Order information such as items purchased, when they were purchased and where they should be sent.
- Customer information, like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
Our team members have access to this information to help fulfil orders, process refunds and support you.
What we share with others
If you choose to purchase a personalised product, some information regarding your order will be sent to a third party (Custom Gateway Ltd). This information includes:
- The date/time of your purchase.
- Your full name.
- Your email address.
- Your phone number (if specified at the checkout).
- Your shipping address.
- The personalised items you have purchased, including any images and text that has been used to personalise the product.
This information is shared with the third party in order to generate thumbnails for your personalised products, and fulfil the orders. The date/time of purchase is used to prioritise orders based on the time they were purchased. Your name is used with your shipping address in order to create shipping labels and dispatch the goods to the correct place. Your phone number and email address may be used to request information if there is an issue with your order (such as an incorrect delivery address). The third party will never contact you directly. Personalisation details such as images and text are used to create the artwork that will be printed onto the product, and provide a thumbnail of the personalised product to use when quality checking printed goods.
We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
